Core distinction

Information — total, perfect, or beautifully coherent (Babel, Funes, Tlön).

Wisdom — knowing what to forget, what to trust, and what to still leave unresolved.

Fiction as moral simulation, not decoration — it trains the same tolerance for ambiguity a scan or a complication demands.

Key questions per text

Rosa: Where have I built a private "pact" story that lets me avoid a plainer moral accounting of a real choice?
Borges: Where am I mistaking total information (Babel), perfect recall (Funes), or a tidy fabrication (Tlön) for actual judgment?
Clarice: Who is my Macabéa — unremarkable, quick to process, deserving the same attention as my most interesting case?

Borges failure-mode cheat: Babel = total access, no way to find the true shelf · Funes = perfect memory, cannot compress into a category or a decision · Tlön = a tidy fabrication crowding out messier truth because it reads better.

The month practice

One page: courage, language, and ambiguity — not a book report.

Pick one real episode where you acted with courage but the moral picture stayed unresolved.
Paragraph 1: name the ambiguity plainly — no false resolution.
Paragraph 2: examine the courage against the four virtues (wisdom, courage, justice, temperance).
Paragraph 3: reread and cut every sentence that resolves the ambiguity more neatly than the truth allows.

Sob medida — this month's pattern

The pattern: worth fused to output; even rest and hobbies had to be revived by written rule.

The counter-move: let 600 pages that produce nothing count as the discipline working, not failing — no summary, no tracker, no delegation to an agent.

The tell: tracking pages-per-night like a KPI, or bringing the one-page practice to a mirror before any behavior has changed.

Maxim

Some things are not meant to resolve — keep looking anyway, without lying or looking away.

Second maxim

Let one hour a week produce nothing, and count that as the discipline working.
