# Notes — Formation Workspace

## Learner preferences (from prior workspaces)
- Learns concept/clinical-first: analogy → recall → apply. Anchor every concept to a real case, decision, or home situation.
- 30–60 min/day max (Osler-style). Lessons completable in one sitting, one tangible win each.
- Reads pt-BR classics in the original; philosophy shelf per-book decision (see RESOURCES Gaps).
- Discussion partners: Samilly (esp. mortality/family months), mentors (coaching/vocation months).

## Formation note format (one per finished book/article → `learning-records/`)
Five headings, no more:
1. **Central idea** — one paragraph only.
2. **What this reveals about me** — be honest.
3. **What this changes in my work** — one clinic behavior, one OR behavior, one research behavior.
4. **What this changes at home** — one concrete behavior.
5. **One sentence to remember** — a personal maxim.

Examples:
- After *Meditations*: "I do not control the outcome; I control preparation, conduct, honesty, and the next right action."
- After *Being Mortal*: "A technically successful treatment can still fail the patient's life."
- After Drucker: "My highest contribution is not the same as my highest stimulation."

## The daily protocol (runs continuously; the reading feeds it)

**Morning (5 min)** — read one paragraph (Marcus, Epictetus, Osler, or Frankl). Write: "Today I will practice ______." (temperance during frustration · courage in a difficult conversation · justice with the team · humility after praise · presence with family)

**Before surgery (2 min)** —
1. What matters most in this case?
2. What can go wrong?
3. What is my first rescue plan?
4. What emotional state do I need to bring?
5. What must I not let ego decide?

**After surgery (3 min)** —
1. What went well?
2. What did I learn?
3. What should I do differently?
4. What must I accept?
5. Who needs communication now?

**Evening (5 min)** —
1. Did I become more or less the man I want to be today?
2. Was I present at home?
3. Did ambition serve love, or compete with it?
4. What deserves gratitude?
5. What is tomorrow's one essential thing?

## Working notes
- 2026-07-04: Workspace scaffolded from the formation syllabus.
- 2026-07-04 (later): ALL 12 lessons + cards built, then DEEPENED against PROFILE.md (Pact dossier): every lesson has a "Sob medida" section confronting its owned behavioral pattern + False-Transformation gate on every practice. Elective lesson 0013 (Goethe/Nietzsche/Kant/Dostoevsky) + course index.html added. All 27 HTML files: JS parse-verified + links verified. Lessons now ~430-550 lines.
- Deliverable artifacts to expect over the year: 10-year contribution statement (M3), family rituals list (M6), Brazil essay (M7), AI-use rules (M9), rule of life (M12) — save these to `learning-records/` too.
